During his tenure at CBS, McEwen was the longest-running talent on any major network morning show. While at CBS News, McEwen skyrocketed to fame as one of America’s most well-known and respected personalities on network television.
He excelled in many high-profile positions, including anchoring “CBS This Morning” and serving as entertainment reporter for “The Early Show.” He was also a correspondent on the CBS News show, “48 Hours.” From “The Morning Program” to “CBS This Morning” to “The Early Show,” McEwen was a mainstay on CBS since first joining the network in 1987. McEwen’s vibrant personality and his keen ability to connect with his audience earned him countless interviews with the world’s biggest newsmakers, including five Presidents of the United States: Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Richard Nixon.

McEwen has covered almost every imaginable television event – including the Oscars, the Grammys, the Golden Globe Awards, the Cannes Film Festival and the Country Music Association Awards. While at CBS, he anchored from three Winter Olympic Games including: Albertville, France, Lillehammer, Norway and Nagano, Japan. In Nagano, he ran with the Olympic Torch during CBS Sports’ coverage of the Games.
